Out & About
Barbados is small but the options for having fun are endless. Decide what you would like to do!
Downtown Bridgetown
There are four major towns in Barbados: Bridgetown, Oistins, Holetown and Speightstown. Bridgetown being the main capital is where the 'hustle and bustle' occurs. Bridgetown has many malls, banks, fast food restaurants, craft centers and souvenir shops. Looking for relatively cheap souvenirs go to Woolworth. More expensive souvenirs maybe found at Ganzee, Pelican Craft Village for local handicrafts and restaurants.
The other towns are less active. Holetown is located on the Gold coast, now known as the Platinum coast (because of the rich and famous). Speightstown and Oistins are two fishing towns which are much quieter.
It’s time to party
If you are a party animal, then St Lawrence Gap is just for you. The street has a number of nightclubs and restaurants such as McBrides, Ship Inn, Reggae Lounge, Cafe sol and the now popular Jumbies. Club Xtreme is one of the popular nightclubs which is a 5 minute walking distance from The Gap. Also there are other hip night spots e.g. The Boatyard, Harbour Lights, Bayshore.

So you are a big sports fan. There are many sports bars along the south offering cuisine and sporting atmosphere. You can keep track of your favourite teams in English Premiere League Football, NFL Football, NBA Basketball, Formula One racing. The most popular one is Bubba’s Sports Bar on Rockley Main Road, Christ Church. Another recommened bar is Rojes, a bit quieter but still lots of fun. You can slip in Nelson's Arms to play a game of pool and have some drinks.
Eating and Drinking

In town you can find local restaurants selling tasty food. Chefette is the local fast food restaurant offering rotis, snack box (chicken and chips), burger and salads for the health conscious. All under $10US.
Pure relaxation and fun
No need to look for white sandy beaches, there are everywhere. Some of the popular spots include Miami Beach, Enterprise Accra Beach. Heywoods is recommended if you want a more quieter beach. The beaches on the west and south coasts are however calmer than those on the east coast (Atlantic side). Therefore bathing on the east coast is not recommended and is prohibited.
