Barbados has a rich and interesting history dating back to the original inhabitants of the island through colonisation by the British and emergence as an independent nation. Some places of historical interests include: Gun Hill Signal Station, Morgan Lewis Windmill, St. Nicholas Abbey, Barbados Jewish Synagogue, George Washington House, Sunbury Plantation, Barbados Museum.

TopOn the east coast huge Atlantic Ocean waves crash upon the rugged shores. While the area is not good for swimming the Soup Bowl in Bathsheba is the surfers choice. Some of the popular beach areas include Bath, Cattlewash, Hackleton’s Cliff, Ragged Point, Little Bay, Cove Bay, River Bay, Barclays Park. If you are a lover of fauna be sure to check out Andromeda Gardens, Flower Forest, Welchman Hall Gully and the Animal Flower Cave. A good way to see all of these sights is to participate in the Barbados National Trust Hike held every Sunday at 3:30pm. The cost is $free.
